Each of the 2 apartments consists of a fairly spacious lounge and dining room with a kitchenette; a bedroom and a bathroom. Both are fully equipped for self-catering and are accessible for physically handicapped people. Each has a verandah with a deck as well as a braai area. There is a garden which was specially adapted for the benefit of handicapped persons.
Covered parking, Wi-Fi and air-conditioning are available. There is a swimming pool.
Activities in die area include birdwatching; more than 90 species have been identified on the farm, hiking trails and rooibos and fynbos safaris.
Elandsberg is the ideal setting to simply relax and enjoy oneself. However, for the slightly more energetic, hiking on the estate is offered and will present ever-changing vistas of mountains and rolling hills. The West Coast and the Cederberg offer a wide variety of opportunities to explore the area. The West Coast, with its beautiful beaches and rocky cliffs, is simply a stone's throw away. Lambert's Bay has a giant gannet colony and it is always awe-inspiring to watch these lovely marine birds come and go.
For those who are not too fond of the ocean, one of the oldest mountain ranges in the world lies to the other side. Guests can enjoy the breathtaking views, unbelievable rock formations, hiking trails, century-old rock art, mountain bike trails and so much more. Elandsberg is also ideally situated for daily excursions to Namaqualand where there is an abundance of wildflowers in the spring, and Niewoudtville, the bulbous plant-mecca of the world.

41 guests' feedbackWe had a hospitable reception and had a wonderful stay. The accommodation is clean and tidy and all facilities for self-catering accommodation are there. The surroundings are beautiful and ideal for some peace and quiet.
Owner was helpful and informative. Farm has beautiful scenery for walking and there is a beautiful garden laid out by the owner. Access to the farm from the road is through an automatic gate controlled by the owner, we had some trouble contacting the owner, cell phone service.
We were received very kindly and the owners made us feel very welcome and answered all our questions. Lovely farm atmosphere and enjoy delicious iced tea at reception. The facilities are very basic and small and could do with a "renovation". Not suitable for 4 adults, we happily traveled with 2 young children (fold-out sofa-bed in living area). Very limited luggage space.
See stars.
Great visit with American friends. We were two families with 3 teenagers. Everything was perfect. The reception was warm and our accommodation clean and tidy with lots of little extras like flowers, cookies etc. The rooms have a veranda and the garden is exceptionally beautiful. The Rooibos Tea tour was an experience. Nice place to walk, lovely barbecue places and swimming pool to cool off in. We will definitely go back again.
Elandsberg is the destination for a peaceful, relaxed experience among the Rooibos plantations which has a unique effect on people.
The ideal place to relax in. The hosts, Chris and Anette, welcomed us into their beautiful garden and pointed us in the direction of some local rock art. We learned a lot about Rooibos tea and the surroundings on the Rooibos tour.
Such a beautiful place, warm welcome from Oom Chris, wish we could have stayed longer. Definitely coming back!
Warm welcome, simply furnished cottage with more than enough bedding, kitchenware, books, etc. The cottage is located in the middle of nature, far away from civilisation. Without a doubt a must. It would benefit the comfort if the plastic bucket seats on the veranda were replaced. When we were there, the entrance gate turned out to be a weak point in the sense that if your mobile connection at the gate is weak or failed. Difficult or no contact with the host possible, so the gate does go open. This aspect has already been mentioned in reviews!
The access at the gate creates problems because signals are not always strong. Another way of access control is recommended. Value for money and would recommend.
The most friendly, hospitable hosts. Very peaceful, lovely visit.
If we visited the area again, we would stay there again.
Come fully prepared. Owners exceptionally welcoming, helpful and concerned. We recommend the rooibos tour and flora tour. The tour is interesting and the owners are knowledgeable in the field. The large, rugged native garden is filled with birdsong. For a break from the city, ideal.
Thoroughly enjoyed the surroundings.
Very nice views and especially nice for nature lovers.
From the time we stopped there until we drove 2 days later - with sadness - it was just a pleasure. The owners are 2 fantastic people who gave us even more information about some of the routes we wanted to drive than any road map can give you! Wish we could visit there again very soon.
Very neat and peaceful environment.
The hosts thought of everything. We were impressed as the rooms are fully inclusive and allowed for someone with a disability to access the place. we received the most amazing chilled rooibos iced tea, laced with start aniseed. my daughter's birthday was the Saturday. Chris and Annette graced her with gift. unbelievable. I have never experienced that. we also were gifted with fresh figs, chilled. supper to say the least.
It is a pity that the eco-tours are no longer offered, but the owners compensate well for it and make an effort to help as much as possible with daily travel planning to obtain maximum viewing of the area.
Chris is an excellent and extremely thoughtful host. Went out of his way to make us feel comfortable and at home; even during load shedding. The facility has everything a couple or small family needs. The garden is amazing, especially considering that it is a dry region. If you are a nature lover and especially interested in birds, this is the ideal getaway. Will definitely stay here again and happily recommend.
This piece of paradise is hidden about 20 km from Clanwilliam.
Although the accommodation is basic and far out of town, the rooms were neat, clean and the setting was lovely. The owners were welcoming and helpful. This is not a location for people who want to be close to town but was perfect for a quiet retreat. This was a wonderful place to come with kids - they could play in the enclosed garden with minimal supervision, and there were plenty of rocks to climb, paths for them to explore and ride bikes. The kids loved seeing sheep, cows, tortoises, birds, and we were there while the daisies were flowering. My oldest child (6 years) managed the hike up to see the rock paintings nearby.
We loved it, received a friendly welcome and advice on what we wanted to do. Accommodation had all we needed.
The gravel road leading to the place runs through a bush with no one else around. It's a dark road with no lights and with all the stones and pot holes I ended up with a flat tyre the following day. Unless you driving a bigger car or bakkie, it can really do damage to one's car. It's not the type of place one can drive in and out of during your stay.
It was wonderful to wake up to all the birds singing. Cute braai place that is sheltered from the cold and wind. The highlight was the tour where we learned more about the fynbos and rooibos tea.
Self-catering about 30 km from Clanwilliam. A short section is gravel road that is in a reasonable condition. The units are neat and everything is there you need. We were a group of 6 and the price suited our bag. There is no TV, but it didn't bother us, we just wanted to experience the silence. The rooms are not very modern and it makes you feel like visiting Grandma and Grandpa on the farm! They have the hottest water I have ever had and it was wonderful! We got delicious fresh tea when we came and took gift boxes with different flavored tea home.
Enjoyable experience wow.
Finding the place is an adventure in itself, but you are well received with a cup of home-made rooibos tea, it's like going to mum's house, nice. You immediately feel at home and know that you don't exactly want to leave on Sunday morning. You are dismissed the same way if you go home with hands waving and smiles on your face. If you want to get away from the busy city life and want to come relax and have a good time I would recommend Elandsberg Eco-Tourism.
Really enjoyed the stay, slept well and relaxed. Lovely host and hostess. Thanks for everything and all the best for your future.
Comfortable accommodation among the rooibos plantations. Uncle Chris' rooibos tour is a must! Hospitality in abundance and the scenery unbeatable
Informative tour and information about the cultivation, harvesting and processing of rooibos.
We had a very nice stay. We were there over Christmas and must say it was exceptionally nice. The hiking trails are beautiful. Will visit there again for sure.
They are the most hospitable people you can find. So unique to the West Coast. We rested wonderfully in the silence between the mountains. Chris and Anette are two lovely people. They love to share information and wisdom not to mention their love. My heart ached as we drove there.
The farm is so peaceful and the area speaks to your soul. Chris and Annette's knowledge about rooibos tea and fynbos introduced us to a whole new world. Such an experience to climb a hill and look at the rock art. An enriching experience. Will be back.
A stay with Chris and Annette is more than worth it, such lovely and gezellig people. They can give you a lot of information about the area. It is super wheelchair friendly, even the garden is accessible.
Thanks for a lovely time! It is so beautiful and peaceful there. You can really rest! Will definitely recommend it and also return!
Chris & Annette made our stay so homely and they looked after us so nicely! The Rooibos tea tour was so informative & the farm is beautiful! We will definitely recommend staying there to anyone!
We had a wonderful stay with Chris and Annette. They made us feel very welcome and shared a lot of knowledge. The garden and view from the porch is beautiful. One can sit in the garden and watch the turtles, birds, flowers and appreciate the birdsong. We definitely would have liked to stay much longer. They helped us decide which roads we wanted to drive and where we wanted to eat. They helped us with things we forgot at home and shared very nice home-made food and rooibos tea drinks with us. It was also interesting to learn more about rooibos tea cultivation. You are right next to the neighbors and if they talk a little loudly, it can be disturbing. Other than that it is absolutely delicious and we definitely want to go back for longer.
We slept two nights at Elandsberg. Although it is 13 kilos out on the Graafwaterpad and then another 6 km dirt road to the farm, the final destination is absolutely worth it. The silence on the farm is a pleasure for the soul! The highlight is of course the ride on the safari truck (Moederkappie) to the rooibos tea plantation and factory. For those of us who know nothing about the cultivation of tea, Chris's talk was particularly interesting and instructive. We were on a double tour to the tea plantations as well as to the fynbos. The remains of San petroglyphs under the baking cliffs on the farm are amazing. Chris and Annette's kindness and helpfulness exceed all limits. Even our laundry was washed after we had already been on the road for many days. It's a place where you arrive as a complete stranger and leave with a warm feeling in your heart because you've become close friends with the owners! You also can't leave there without a basket full of rooibos tea products. Annette's Gluh tea that you receive in your room right after you arrive is so delicious - you immediately want more! She freely shares her recipes with her guests. We are now back in Centurion and ready to start making Gluh-tea and introduce it to all our friends. Many thanks again to Chris and Anette - you are very special!
When you arrive and meet Chris and Annette for the first time, you become aware of their passion for visitors and the environment they represent. Their knowledge of the area and the variety is very impressive.
